Scarce plaskon Addison Radio 2 'Waterfall' tube radio in white with raspberry (not maroon) trim made circa 1940 by Addison Industries Limited in Canada. This stylized Art Deco radio features the famous "waterfall" speaker grill trim and surround "bumpers" with speed-lines that really make for a streamlined radio design. Wonderful Motorola 52 'Vertical Grill' catalin radio in beautiful marbleized green with yellow trim. This model was the first in a series of three different Catalin cabinet radios produced by Motorola. Manufactured in 1939 by Motorola Radio also known to collectors as the 'Vertical Grill'. This Motorola design highlights the Art Deco elements of the era. The green on this example is highlighted by swirls of light yellow, brown and clear to add depth to the color. This beautiful radio would make a fantastic addition to a collection.The details in the design are unique with its vertically louvered grill, which, feathers out from the center to the left + right and hexagonal knobs make for an unusual design and highly sought after radio. The cabinet features streamlined hand incised grooves that stretch around the case bringing all the elements together while adding to the geometric aspect of the radio. The metallic dial face is decorated with deco numerals and the Motorola logo written in script. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. Even though this radio's color is often described as black with yellow swirl, they are in fact dark green with yellow swirls. The catalin has a deep shine, rich color, glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow and green tone marbleizing that add dimension to the radio. Great Swirled two-tone Fada Bullet
Bright and beautiful FADA Model 115 Pre-War 'Bullet' Catalin Streamliner in beautiful highly marbleized translucent Onyx Green and Yellow marbleized trim. This radio's styling epitomizes 1940’s Streamline Art Deco design. Its sleek, rounded lines suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. The original marbleized yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a seldom found Pre-War FADA 115 Bullet model. The model 115 differs from its postwar counterpart, in that it has the smooth 'gumdrop' knobs, a split dial face with what looks like a large Roman numeral through the center of it and a copper foil grill cloth that is installed vertically. The glossy onyx catalin cabinet is highlighted by some orange, clear + yellow marbleizing and a beautiful transparency. The yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. The cabinet on this onyx and yellow FADA 115 has no cracks, chips or repairs. Radio cabinet was polished back to its factory original onyx color from its oxidized caramel coloring. The yellow catalin dial ring, gumdrop knobs and handle are original + correct to the radio and also in great condition with no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. Beautiful all-original marbleized Onyx Green Fada 5F60 Catalin radio. This rare prewar 1936/37 is one of the earliest catalin radio models made and has a simple and distinct cabinet design. This beautifully swirled example is all-original with a beautiful glossy finish. This model has come to be known to collectors as the 'Baby Fada' because of its small size. Catalin cabinet has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The matching onyx green insert grille and fluted knobs are original and have no cracks, chips or repairs. Clear dial plastic cover + Fada decal are correct replacements. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use and age. This is truly a great example of an all-original early FADA model. The radio measures 7.75" wide by 5" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete.
