Scarce plaskon Addison Radio 2 'Waterfall' tube radio in white with raspberry (not maroon) trim made circa 1940 by Addison Industries Limited in Canada. Collectors consider this color combination to be a rare find. The unique styling + bold use of color would make this radio a truly beautiful addition to any collection. This stylized Art Deco radio features the famous "waterfall" speaker grill trim and surround "bumpers" with speed-lines that really make for a streamlined radio design. This particular example is a stunning radio in excellent original condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs to the cabinet. The raspberry Plaskon trim is complete and factory original to the radio and has no chips, burns or repairs; has one tiny stress-line on right side bumper. Cabinet has a mild warp as is common to the plaskon Addisons. The matching original white knobs are also perfect. The ivory and red painted dial is original and bright. The dial plastic is a correct replacement. Manufactures paper label is still affixed to the bottom of cabinet.
Radio measures approximately 10.25" wide x 6" high x 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
