Rare Pre-War Insert Grill FADA "Bullet" Catalin Streamliner Model 115 in butterscotch with bright red marbleized trim. This one owner radio is super clean, beautiful and has never had the trim removed from cabinet and therefore retains the original glue on insert grill and bezel. This is the only original pre-war 115 insert grill model I have ever owned or seen. The model 115 differs from its postwar counterpart, in that it has the smooth "gumdrop" knobs, and a split dial face with what looks like a large Roman numeral through the center of it. The all-original bright marbleized red trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a seldom found Pre-War FADA 115 Bullet model. The butterscotch catalin cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. The Bright Red Catalin insert grill, dial bezel, gum-drop knobs and handle are original + correct to the radio, they are also in great condition with no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs. The fragile paper + gold foil dial face is in great condition showing only small sign of age and use. Radio retains the original cardboard back panel with FA-DA-SCOPE label in great condition. The dial plastic cover is original and has very little yellowing or hazing. Radio measures approximately: 10.25" wide by 6.25" high by 5.5" deep. Seldom seen FADA Model 116 Pre-War 'Euro Bullet' Catalin Streamliner in beautiful marbleized translucent Onyx Green with Yellow marbleized trim. This radio's styling epitomizes 1940’s Streamline Art Deco design. Its sleek, rounded lines suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. The original marbleized yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a seldom found FADA 116 Euro Bullet model. The model 116 is the export European version of the pre-war Fada 115. The model 116 ‘Euro-Bullet' differs from the similar looking model 115, in that it has a slightly different dial with shortwave/broadcast bands with a selection switch on back and radio is 220V chassis. The warm onyx green patina on the cabinet is highlighted by some orange, clear + yellow marbleizing and a beautiful transparency. The highly transparent yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. The cabinet on this onyx and yellow FADA 115 has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The yellow catalin dial ring, gumdrop knobs and handle are original + correct to the radio and also in great condition with no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The correct copper foil grill cloth is in great original condition. The fragile paper + gold foil dial face is in great condition with only minimal wear. Radio retains the original cardboard back panel with FA-DA-SCOPE label and part of the orignal stickers with the 116 model designation visible. The dial plastic cover is a replacement.
