FADA model 136 in plum/maroon with a yellow wrap-around grill, knobs + handle. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. The model 136 differs from a model L-56 in a few ways; the knobs are gumdrop shape and the dial is different and marked Fada rather than having a water-slide decal below grille. Model 136 FADAs are not seen as often as the L-56 making this a special radio. The glossy plum catalin cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The yellow catalin grill, knobs and handle are complete + factory original to the radio and free of cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The beautiful graphic dial is bright and in great condition. This model was most likely produced by FADA Radio to compete with the Emerson Patriot, another Catalin radio issued in the red-white-blue color combo. Beautiful Chinese red plaskon Fada 362RG 'Coloradio' radio with gold stylized accents from the 1930's. This deco radio is one model in the line of Fada's streamlined 'Coloradios' and was offered in a choice of four color combinations with red being the most sought after. This cabinet's design is a beautiful example of Machine Age styling. The radio's curved and angular front + side details of varying thickness with strong horizontal lines are reminiscent of the Art Deco architecture of the period. This radio is exceedingly hard to find and is highly sought after by both radio and Art Deco collectors. Radio is all-original and in fabulous condition with only a few small tight lines and small scratches common to plaskon radios of the time that can barely be seen in the photos.
