Deco Aqua Glass Crystal Bent Fyrart Waltham Clock
Geometric Art Deco 3-Layer Aqua Waltham Glass Clock
Striking Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this Crystal Bent Fyrart Aqua layered glass clocks design. Fyrart a play on the word fire + art as the glass was heated with fire to form the great shapes that can be seen on this rare clock. The geometric shape, colored curved glass, etched deco numerals filled with gold paint, and stylish brass hands heighten the appeal of this rare clock. This is a truly successful design that resembles a glacier with its beveled edges and sharp angles. The mirrored section on the front pane reflects the etched Deco clock numerals giving the effect of depth + and the layering of the glass gives it a gradient look. These incredible Art Deco Crystal Bent Fyrart clocks were, as the name implies, made from plate glass that was usually colored, that was heated + bent to form a face, + support for a Waltham clock movement. The condition of this clock can only be described as near mint. The aqua colored glass is free of any cracks or chips. It does have a very fine bubble in one of the panes of glass towards the edge. The mirrored section on the front pane directly behind the etched Deco clock face shows only the slightest amount of wear. The clock is fitted with the original electric Waltham Watch Co. movement that is in working condition at this time, cannot guarantee that it will continue working after shipping but it should. The cloth covered power cord has some wear to the exterior cloth covering but works safely - this can be changed out if desired This electric table clock measures approximately: 12.75" wide by 6.75" high by 5.75" deep. Rare Cord 'Zephyr' lite-up Catalin 1930's Deco radio. This seldom seen radio consists of an oval black lacquer cabinet with a translucent butterscotch catalin front panel that lights-up from the inside. The butterscotch marbleized catalin panel lights-up from the inside giving the radio a warm glow, setting it apart from other radios manufactured in the 1930s. This interesting feature along with the use of different materials makes for a highly unusual and rare Art Deco radio. The radio is further highlighted by the large circular dial with great graphics. Designed by Morris Weincord of Chicago, IL in 1936 for the Cord Radio Co. Radio is in great condition with some wear to chrome + lacquered wood as would be expected from age and use. The original butterscotch catalin front panel is in perfect condition with not cracks, chips, repairs or burns. Radio retains the original black Bakelite knobs and matching wood back panel. Rare and perfect prewar 1938 Fada model 53x Catalin radio in marbleized onyx with matching grill insert. This is the radio featured in John Sideli's book on Catalin radios titled "Classic Plastic Radios of the 1930's and 1940's" that was owned by important Catalin collector Mark Woolley. Wonderful Art Deco model made in 1938 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This all onyx example is all original and in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. Cabinet and grill have faint dark brown + orange marbleizing highlighted by a beautiful transparency. Catalin Cabinet and trim have no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Deco Federal 159 'Circle' Walnut Radio - Simple Elegant Design
Seldom Seen Round Wood Radio Model
Great small Federal 159 'Circle' 1937/38 radio in a beautiful finely grained book-matched walnut veneers with black edge detail. Unusual modern radio for its time was advertised as "beautiful and graceful---yet striking in appearance" due to its circular design combined and small size. The simple cabinet is highlighted by a large round dial face trimmed in brass and two ball brass/gold feet. Circular radios were only manufactured by a few brand names during the late 1930's; thus making it d difficult design to acquire. This radio design can also be found branded as a Silver with a different dial scale and label; see original advertisement. The radios cabinet has recently been refinished and it is stunning. Radio was carefully restored to match the original toning that accentuates the round design. Radio retains its original 3 brown bullet shaped knobs, brass bezel, metal ball feet, dial plastic and back panel. Federal decal is a correct replacement.
