Emerson Model 411 "Mickey Mouse" Rare Original Disney Painted Version
Seldom Seen all Original 78 Year Old Disney Mickey Tube Radio in Great Condition
Beautiful early 1934 original painted version of the Emerson Model 411 Repwood "Mickey Mouse" Radio. The model 411 was 1 in a series of 4 "Mickey Mouse" novelty sets the Emerson manufactures under license from the Disney Corporation. The 4 panels on the radio are made of Repwood or pressed wood and have hand carved and painted figures. This original and complete Mickey Mouse radio is just incredible and in wonderful condition for a 78 year old radio. The differences between this painted version + a regular Repwood model are the ivory background painted dial escutcheons and front "Mickey Mouse" metal plates and the grill cloth. In 26 years of collecting I have only been able to find two other examples of this model and would be happy to forward information upon request. The original ivory painted cabinet and painted Mickey characters have had no touch-ups and the wear is consistent with the age of the radio. Front panel has one small hairline at the top of Mickey's instrument which can barley be seen. Radio has original knobs with some of the original ivory paint still present. The wooden back panel is original land has the Emerson brass plate still affixed with the serial #. This is a rare and incredible radio that needs to be proudly displayed in a Disney or radio collection. Radio measures approximately: 6.75" high by 7" wide by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.

Emerson Red Catalin "Patriot" 400 Radio Norman Bel Geddes Art Deco Design
Great Bright Red Catalin Emerson "Patriot" by Industrial Designer Bel Geddes
Bright Red Catalin Art Deco Emerson "Patriot" model FC-400 designed in 1940 by industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes. With war looming over Europe and becoming an increasing threat to the USA, this radio's theme struck a chord with American radio buyers, who turned it into a best seller for Emerson. Bel Geddes sought to promote American technology, industry, and identity, through the use of the stars-and-stripes design of the radio. This "Patriot" design in turn helped bolster national pride during the difficult years of the Great Depression. The bright red Catalin cabinet retains its original factory gloss and is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. This model's fragile tenite/plastic grill, which is prone to deterioration, is original and in beautiful condition showing only a mild warp. White "Star" knobs and handle exact replacements. This beautifully minimalist designed Deco midget size radio has etched speed-lines on the front wrapping around the left side, flared bottom sides, curved handle and vertical catalin dial surround and dial face. Manufactured by the Espey Manufacturing Company, Inc., New York, N. This is the only one in this color combo I have personally seen or owned. Espey catalin radios rarely come to the open market as they are usually traded privately from one collector to the other. Since being discovered in the early 1990s at a Georgia flea market this particular radio has been in four different catalin radio collections over the years. This radio would definitely make for a unique + rare addition to a catalin radio collection. The gold with plum silk-screened vertical slide-rule dial face is bright and original with no wear. Chassis is original to the radio and in beautiful condition. It also has some other small details details that I'd be happy to point out that make an all-original Espey unique This small radio measures approximately: 7.5" wide by 5.5" high by 4.5" deep.
