Lemon Yellow Catalin Emerson BM-258 radio known as the 'Big Miracle' with black trim. Made by Emerson Radio + Television in 1938 the Big Miracle is a slightly larger version of the Little Miracle. The cabinet is a light yellow with marbleizing and transparency that really adds depth to the cabinet. The light yellow color is brought out with its contrasting black louvered grill + knobs. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a great example of this Emerson 'Big Miracle' model. The cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. This models fragile black plastic grill + knobs which, are prone to deterioration, are original + good condition showing some mild warp and wear on the grill. Radio retains the color coordinated bottom cardboard panel that is not often present. Dial plastic and decal are correct replacements. Rare Square-Dial Violin Designed Vintage Emerson Radio
The rarely seen Emerson 'Stradivarius' Model CV-298 Square-Dial version radio in stripped walnut. Here is your chance to add this highly desirable example known as a Square-Dial 'Strad' and not the more commonly found D-Dial CH-256 to your collection. By 1939 radios had advanced to having an internal loop antenna and the D-Dial CL-256 didn't have enough room inside the cabinet for the antenna; therefore Emerson had Ingraham slightly increase all the measurements of the CL to accommodate the new CV-298 chassis + antenna. This 1939 radio design has to be one of the most beautiful Ingraham cabinets made. The radio's elegant violin shape, sounding cutouts and grille bars that resemble the strings of a violin are unlike any other radio. This is a Radio has been cosmetically restored back to its original beauty really making the stripped walnut pop. The radio was a very clean example prior to restoration, and it had no missing or chipped veneers or the wrap around inlays. The richness of the all original veneers used by Ingraham have a remarkable depth of color that is just stunning. Please view all photos to see the incredible workmanship and design of this radio. The radio still retains its original black bakelite knobs, metal Ingraham tag and CV-298 stamping on the bottom.
