Art Deco Plaskon Kadette "Jewel" Radio in Chinese Red
Perfect Example of Rare Red Kadette Plaskon Radio
Beautiful and Rare Chinese Red Plaskon Kadette "Jewel" Model 44 with a marbled Tenite Art Deco grill insert. This tube radio was manufactured in 1935 by the International Radio Corp. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This set is considered a midget sized table radio model. The stepped design with molded ridges and the Art Deco geometric designed Tenite grill insert make this radio a standout. This combination of plastics and cabinet style make it very popular and sought after by collectors. This radio is in original, untouched condition, with a beautiful and natural gloss. It is just a superb example of this Deco radio, see photos. The Bakelite case and trim have no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. Truly an exceptional tube radio that looks like it has been well cared for showing small light scratches consistent with light use. The coral toned Tenite grill with the Art Deco Geometric Egyptian eye design is in perfect original condition. Radio retains the original red Plaskon knobs, color coordinated red cardboard back, metal dial escutcheons, and red fabric grill cloth in great condition with no holes or tears. Radio measures: 7.5" wide by 5.5" high by 3.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Bendix 526C Catalin Radio in Green with Black
Great Bendix 526C Catalin radio in Swirled Green with Black trim. This Art Deco Bendix Tube Radio made circa 1946 is extremely stylish with the marbleized green cabinet and contrasting black front, a color combination only found on this model catalin radio. This model radio incorporates both a unique design + construction. The swirled green catalin top + sides are molded into one U-shaped piece that fits down over the black catalin piece which forms the front and base of the radio The two rounded corner pieces that bolt onto either side of the dial are a unique feature unlike anything found on any other radio. Radio is in beautiful original condition and retains a beautiful natural gloss that shows off the marbleized color. Cabinet and trim are in very perfect original condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The cabinet has small surface scratches consistent with age and light careful use. Radio retains its original manufacturer's sticker on the bottom and the masonite back panel. The original gold and black dial plastic is also in perfect condition. Radio measures approximately 11" Wide x 7" High x 6" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Catalin FADA 5F60 Radio Yellow with Onyx - Original
Beautiful Early Art Deco FADA 5F60 or "Baby Fada" Catalin Radio
This is a rare + perfect prewar 1936/37 Fada model 5F60-AU Catalin radio in faintly marbleized yellow with a translucent onyx grille. This is one of the earliest Catalin radio models made and has a simple and distinct cabinet design. This yellow + onyx example is all-original and in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. Onyx grill has faint brown and yellow marbleizing and a beautiful transparency to it that gives it depth. This model has come to be known to collectors as the " Baby Fada" because of its small size. The AU designation at the end of the model # is the color code for Alabaster + Onyx per FADA catalogs of the era. Catalin Cabinet and trim have no cracks, chips, or repairs. This is a great example of an all-original early FADA. Radio was found in Europe and has a Eurpoean plug; few Fada Catalin radios were made for export. The radio measures 7.75" wide by 5" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete.
