All original FADA "Open Face Bullet" Streamliner radio Model 1000 in Onyx + Butterscotch Catalin. The "open face" Bullet model is seldom seen + is rare, as production was low. This radio styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the "Bullet" are the best-known models. The beautiful onyx Catalin cabinet has faint dark brown + orange marbleizing and a beautiful transparency with the butterscotch trim, which, adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. Beautiful Early Art Deco FADA 5F60 or "Baby Fada" Catalin Radio
This is a rare + perfect prewar 1936/37 Fada model 5F60-AU Catalin radio in faintly marbleized yellow with a translucent onyx grille. This is one of the earliest Catalin radio models made and has a simple and distinct cabinet design. This yellow + onyx example is all-original and in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. Onyx grill has faint brown and yellow marbleizing and a beautiful transparency to it that gives it depth. This model has come to be known to collectors as the " Baby Fada" because of its small size. The AU designation at the end of the model # is the color code for Alabaster + Onyx per FADA catalogs of the era. Catalin Cabinet and trim have no cracks, chips, or repairs. This is a great example of an all-original early FADA. Radio was found in Europe and has a Eurpoean plug; few Fada Catalin radios were made for export. Beautiful + Rare Turquoise General Television 591 catalin radio, with beautiful contrasting ivory handle, grill, knobs, and dial trim. Made by General Television Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model 591 is the only Catalin model made by the company. The cabinet on the Catalin GTV has great turquoise, white + clear swirls that add depth to the radio. The bronze face features a stunning textured deco sunburst pattern, with a red Saturn shaped station indicator, beneath which 'General Television' appears. This is the rarest of the 3-catalin colors made of this great Art Deco radio and is seldom seen. This original radio has beautiful gloss and is just a superb example of this General Television radio. Radio has been hand cut/polished back to the original turquoise factory color - this is as intense as they get color wise when original. Cabinet has no cracks, chips or tube burns; however it does have a small hairline on the bottom back screw hole that can not be seen when displayed and mild discoloration/fading of the color which is a common occurrence on this rare radio.
