Great Bright Yellow Small Art Deco Wilcox-Gay Radio
Canary Yellow Wilcox-Gay Radio model A51 'L'il Champ' Plaskon. This incredible Art Deco 'midget' size radio is among the rarest of the plaskon radios produced and is the only model made in canary yellow. This 1938/1939 model is an incredibly well designed streamlined deco tube radio that is further enhanced by the contrasting plum trim. Even though midget sized radios were popular in their time + offered in different color combinations, they have become hard to find in any combination due to their fragile plaskon case. This scarce radio would make an incredible addition to any radio or Art Deco collection. This all-original rare little plaskon radio is in great condition with no chips, cracks, burns, or repairs. Plum colored knobs, celluloid dial, and gold textured grill cloth are original to the radio + in great condition. This L'il Champ is in great condition having only a few small tight lines common to plaskon radios of the time that can barely be seen in the photos. Beautiful General Electric L-622 catalin 'Jewel Box' radio in a beautiful translucent marbleized reddish tortoise. The design of this radio is unique as no other catalin radio is designed to look like a Jewelry Box. The L-622 series is one of only two catalin radios ever manufactured by General Electric and made in the early 1940s. The Catalin has a deep shine + original factory gloss, rich color, glow, exceptionally striking translucency and luminosity. This great radio would make a great addition to any radio or Art Deco collection. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Radio retains the original often missing embossed General Electric tag on the face of radio in good condition. Butterscotch knobs are original to the radio. The gold textured grill cloth and the metal dial escutcheons all in great original condition. Radio has been well taken care of and only shows some fine scratches consistent with age + careful use Radio measures: 9.5" wide x 6.25" high x 6" deep. Stunning Art Deco Motorola 'Vertical Grill' Catalin Radio
Great Motorola 52 'Vertical Grill' catalin radio in beautiful marbleized green with yellow trim. This model was the first in a series of three different Catalin cabinet radios produced by Motorola. Manufactured in 1939 by Motorola Radio also known to collectors as the 'Vertical Grill'. This Motorola design highlights the Art Deco elements of the era. The green on this example is highlighted by swirls of light yellow, brown and clear to add depth to the color. This beautiful radio would make a fantastic addition to a collection.The details in the design are unique with its vertically louvered grill, which, feathers out from the center to the left + right and hexagonal knobs make for an unusual design and highly sought after radio. The cabinet features streamlined hand incised grooves that stretch around the case bringing all the elements together while adding to the geometric aspect of the radio. The metallic dial face is decorated with deco numerals and the Motorola logo written in script. This is an exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio.This stunning radio is in good original condition with tube burns or repairs to the cabinet; however it does have a small chip on the bottom rear corner and an interior hairline on the bottom that is visible from the outside. Yellow knobs and grill are original to radio and in great condition (please see photos). Lackner Neon-Glo Art Deco Dulcy Marbled Brown Catalin Bakelite clock made in the 30's and 40's in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the only Catalin case clock which lites-up with a neon giving the dial a beautiful glow. This Lackner retains a beautiful natural gloss to the cabinet and is highly marbleized with tones of yellow + orange. Cabinet has no cracks, burns or repairs. It does have a couple of small chips caused by the shrinking of the Catalin cabinet around the metal back which is common for Lackner Bakelite body clocks.
