Stunning Pistachio Marbleized Catalin Large Addison 5

Ref: RA884

Beautiful Addison Catalin radio Model 5 in a striking translucent and marbleized Pistachio Green cabinet with Burgundy trim. This is a magnificent + exquisitely crafted stately Art Deco radio. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. Pistachio catalin was only used by four radio manufacturers of the time and is therefore an uncommon find.

The pistachio green catalin cabinet has a glossy deep rich color, glow and also has exceptional, clear, white + green marbleizing that add dimension to the radio. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Radio's cabinet has been cut/polished back to its factory original pistachio green color from its oxidized caramel coloring. The five maroon vertical grill bars are original as are the three matching pinwheel knobs. The radio retains its original chocolate brown reverse painted dial glass in excellent condition with only the slightest signs of age. The grill cloth is original to this example and retains its bright coloring with no tears or stains with only minimal signs of age. Water-slide decal is a correct replacement.  Radio has small scratches consistent with age + careful use.

This is just a remarkable example of a seldom found Addison color.

This stately radio measures approximately: 12.5" Wide by 9" High by 7" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Radio is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
