Sonora KM 'Coronet' Radio in Yellow + Green Catalin
Beautiful Color Combination for a Catalin Sonora KM
Sonora KM 'Coronet' Radio in yellow catalin with green(originally pastel blue) catalin trim. This example has the rare original pastel blue trim which has taken on a green patina. The contrast in color makes for a great Art Deco radio. This is the only Catalin radio produced by Sonora Radio of Chicago, Illinois. The subtly marbleized Catalin cabinet has beautiful transparency that gives it depth.
This scarce catalin radio has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs to cabinet or trim. The radios front faceplate and handle are original to the radio and makes for a nice contrast in color; knobs are recently machined from original catalin and are slightly lighter in color. The Catalin cabinet has taken on a beautiful and even yellow patina after having been cut/polished back to the original alabaster color some years ago. Radio has the original light blue center dial pointer, mesh grill cloth and back panel. Dial plastic and water-slide decal are correct replacements.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" wide by 5.25" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
