The ivory marbled knobs + handle, masonite back panel, and colorful FADA "Gemloid" dial, and manufactures sticker on bottom of cabinet are original to the radio. Dial plastic is original and grill mesh has been re-flocked back to its original state.

Incredibly Marbleized Oxblood with Butterscotch Trim "Wavy Grill" Sentinel
Catalin Sentinel 284NR "Wavy Grill" radio in oxblood red with butterscotch trim. This radio was made circa 1945 by The Sentinel Radio Company of Evanston, Illinois Known to collectors as "Wavy Grill" Sentinel, the designers surely drew inspiration from the automotive world. Along with the insert Catalin speaker grill and the slant front frequency indicator, the dial glass allows for easy viewing from above the radio as well, and acts as an additional architectural touch to make an already attractive radio into a true work of art. This set would make this radio a truly beautiful addition to any collection.
The radio is just a stunning example of this Catalin Sentinel model. The glossy Catalin oxblood red cabinet has beautiful marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet + is in excellent condition with no cracks, tube burs or repairs. The Butterscotch Catalin grill and knobs are original and in great condition with no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. Radio has a small chip on the interior back panel retaining screw hole inside cabinet, that is not noticeable when the radio is displayed as it is inside hidden by the back panel. The grill cloth + back panel are original to the radio. The dial glass is a correct replacement.

Stunning Incredibly Marbleized Oxblood with Butterscotch Trim DeWald "Harp"
Rare and beautifully marbleized oxblood red case with butterscotch trim Catalin DeWald model A-501 "Lyre" is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in 1938 by DeWald Radio Mfg Corp, out of New York. This stunning model has to be one of the most musically inspired radio designs and because of this has become known to collectors as the "Lyre" or "Harp" DeWald.
The Catalin has a deep shine, rich color, glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow and orange colorful marbleizing that looks like veins of fire running through the cabinet. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this DeWald model.
This beautiful set is in in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The butterscotch pinwheel knobs are original to the radio. The radio retains its original reverse painted curved dial glass also in excellent condition + the gold herringbone pattern grill cloth shows only a small amount of wear. Art Deco 1941 General Electric L-573 Catalin radio in translucent marbleized tortoise with plum trim. One of only two Catalin radios ever manufactured by General Electric and made in 1941. The design of this radio while boxy has numerous Art Deco elements such as the insert louvered grill and semi-circle handle. The Catalin has a deep shine + original factory gloss, rich color, glow, exceptionally striking translucency and luminosity. SONY TR-78 Transistor Radio Prototype / Sales Sample - Marked "Sample Only"
Radio acquired from the family of an employee of Agrod in New York
Sony TR-78 Transistor Radio rare sales sample or prototype model. Radio acquired from the family of an employee of the Agrod Company in New York who was the exclusive U.S. importer for all Sony radio + microphone products starting in 1957.
This TR-78 was shipped to Agrod by Sony as a sales sample of a radio that was being considered for the US market - this model radio was never made available as far as we can tell. We have looked + have been unable to find reference to this model on Sony collectors websites and else where.
This rare radio is faintly marked on the rear "Sample Only" and "Property of...". Cabinet is ivory plastic that is factory painted a pink/rose color - most all plastics that are molded the dye is introduced into the melted plastic and blended during the molding process the color is throughout the plastic this cabinet was painted, further identifying it as a sample or prototype. Radio retains original tag on the back stating model # as TR-78 - Seven Transistor All Wave that is somewhat faded but can still be read. Radio does have some damage + wear as seen in photos, one grill bar is cracked. Chassis seems complete except for the lack of speaker. All parts on radio seem original and correct.

Rare Chocolate Brown Catalin RCA Victor "Tuna Boat" - Very Few Known
Extremely rare Chocolate Brown highly swirled RCA 66X Series Catalin radio - this is one of only a few known examples in this color know to exist to this date. Known to collectors as the "Tuna Boat", this Catalin cabinet from the 1945 RCA 66X series of radios has the distinction of being the largest Catalin radio ever manufactured. This is a radio needs to be displayed with adequate lighting in order to show off the splendid color and marbleizing that it has.
The brown swirled Catalin cabinet is heavily marbleized with tones of white, light yellow + dark brown that add depth to an already rare radio. The radio's elegant violin shape, sounding cutouts and grille bars that resemble the strings of a violin are unlike any other radio. Sparton 557 Considered to be one of the Best Examples of Deco Streamline Style
Striking Art Deco cobalt blue mirror radio model 557 designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks-Worthington Company from Jackson, Michigan in 1936. The radio, known as the "sled" or "3-knob" is a considered to be one of the best examples of Deco Streamline style. The radio features cobalt blue mirrors on the front, top and left side, with contrasting ebony lacquer finish and 5 chromed bands or "speed lines". The asymmetric, geometric shapes and accent designs are distinctively art deco in appearance.
Radio is in great condition and is free of chips and cracks to the original mirrors. Mirrors are original to the radio and have been expertly re-silvered + look beautiful and bright. Silvertone 4505 "Election" Art Deco Radio in Bright Red Plaskon Bakelite
Silvertone "Election" Bakelite/Plaskon Radio designed by John R. Morgan
This Bright Red Silvertone 4505 "Election" radio is a beautiful example of 1930's Streamlined Machine Age design in plastic. The design includes great rounded edges and molded plastic ridges that travel up and around the radio. The single piece cabinet that can be viewed from all sides is the work of noted industrial designer John R. Morgan. This truly is a rare and striking design for an Art Deco Radio. This model first appeared in the 1936 Sears catalog and won first prize as an object of "outstanding beauty" in the nationwide Modern Plastics Competition in New York City
Note that the cases of this model are extremely fragile, and as a result few appear to have survived. These cases often cracked or became distorted due to the heat of the tubes and the weight of the chassis which, slides in from the bottom. The beautiful red colored Plaskon/Bakelite cabinet is in great original condition and retains a beautiful luster. The cabinet has no chips, burns, or repairs. It does have a few tight hairlines common to Plaskon radios of the time that can be seen in the photos. These in no way detract from this rare radio- more detailed images can be sent upon request.
Radio retains the original matching red plastic knobs with only slight discoloration on the tuning knob, manufacturers paper label and gold textured fabric grill cloth on front and mesh on rear.

All lemon yellow marbleized trim is original to radio, grill has a small hairline that can barely be seen in between the louvers. The maroon cabinet was professionally repaired by Dan Blake over 10yrs ago. Repairs can only been seen when looking closely for them or looking at inside of cabinet. Water-slide decal, dial plastic and back panel are replacements.

This Machine Age Marbleized Beetle Plastic Detrola "Split-Grille" 274 Tube Radio is one of the most elusive designs that Detrola ever produced. This example is made of "Beetle" Plaskon with ivory Tenite knobs and "Split-Grilles". This set is highlighted by beautiful green + orange marbleizing. This cabinet's design is a beautiful example of Machine Age styling with it's great rounded edges + molded plastic ridges that travel around the base of radio and separate louvered grills.
The cabinets of these sets are extremely fragile, and as a result few appear to have survived. The cases and trim often crack or became distorted due to the heat of the tubes. Art Deco Streamline Catalin Motorola Circle-Grille Radio
Highly marbleized oatmeal colored Catalin Motorola Model 50-XC-3 "Circle-Grille" with oatmeal Catalin trim is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in 1940 by Motorola Radio also known to collectors as the "Circle Grille". This Motorola design is considered one of the most appealing sets of its time beautifully designed in the Art Deco Style. The Catalin has a deep shine that makes its rich oatmeal color glow + show off exceptionally striking, clear, white, and brown marbleizing that makes it stand out from other Catalin radios.
The details are unique with its round Catalin speaker bezel, scalloped handle, and hexagonal knobs. the cabinet features streamlined ridges that stretch around the case bringing all the elements together. The golden dial face is also decorated with deco numerals and sunburst designs that emanate from a red plastic dial pointer with the letter "M" cast in to it.
Radio has been cut/polished back to its original oatmeal color by Decophobia from it's oxidized pumpkin coloring.
