Sentinel Radio Corporation manufactured four models of Catalin radios during the late 30's and 40's. The 177U, 195U "Push Button" and the 284NI "Wavy Grill" and the 284NB "Outline Grill". These models were available in a few color combinations.

Sentinel 284 "Wavy Grill" Catalin Radio in Oxblood Red and Butterscotch
Incredibly Marbleized Oxblood with Butterscotch Trim "Wavy Grill" Sentinel
Catalin Sentinel 284 "Wavy Grill" radio in oxblood red with butterscotch trim. This radio was made circa 1945 by The Sentinel Radio Company of Evanston, Illinois Known to collectors as "Wavy Grill" Sentinel, the designers surely drew inspiration from the automotive world. Along with the insert Catalin speaker grill and the slant front frequency indicator, the dial glass allows for easy viewing from above the radio as well, and acts as an additional architectural touch to make an already attractive radio into a true work of art. This set would make this radio a truly beautiful addition to any collection. The radio is just a stunning example of this Catalin Sentinel model. The glossy Catalin oxblood red cabinet has beautiful marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet + is in excellent condition with no cracks, tube burns or repairs. The Butterscotch Catalin grill and knobs are original and in great condition with no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. Radio has a small chip on the interior back panel retaining screw hole inside cabinet that is not noticeable when the radio is displayed as it is inside hidden by the back panel. The grill cloth + back panel are original to the radio. The dial glass is a correct replacement. This radio measures approximately: 11" wide by 7" high by 6.25" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.

Sentinel 177U Catalin Radio in Marbleized Sand with Yellow Trim
Seldom Seen Sentinel Wrap Around Grill Catalin Radio
Catalin Sentinel model 177U radio in a beautiful + incredibly marbleized sand colored case with yellow trim. This radios design with its wrap around grill, dial surround + cabinet etchings is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in 1939 by Sentinel Radio Corporation, out of Illinois. This model is seldom seen and came in three-color combinations. The Catalin has a deep shine, rich color and glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow, orange + brown colorful marbleizing. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Sentinel model. This beautiful set is in in great condition with no chips, tube burns or repairs. The yellow grill and gumdrop knobs are original to the radio. Radio retains the original dial plastic. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition. This radio measures approximately: 10.25" wide by 6.75" high by 5.25" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
