Highly marbleized Catalin Sentinel 284 NB 'Outline Grille' radio in marbleized oxblood red with yellow trim. This radio was made circa 1945 by The Sentinel Radio Company of Evanston, Illinois Known to collectors as 'outline grille' Sentinel, the designers surely drew inspiration from the automotive world. Along with the catalin speaker grill surround and the slant front frequency indicator, the dial glass allows for easy viewing from above the radio as well, and acts as an additional architectural touch to make an already attractive radio into a true work of art. The Catalin has a deep shine, rich color + glow combined with exceptionally colorful yellow and orange marbleizing that looks like veins of fire running through the cabinet.  The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Sentinel model.

The radio is just a stunning example of this catalin Sentinel model. The glossy catalin oxblood red cabinet has beautiful marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet + is in excellent condition with no cracks, tube burns or repairs. The chunky yellow catalin grill surround and knobs are original to the radio and in great condition with no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The grill cloth, dial glass + back panel are original to the radio and show minimal signs of age. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is absolutely stunning and would make a fantastic addition to a collection.

This radio measures approximately: 11" wide by 7" high by 6.25" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis appears complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
