Catalin Musicale MD-19 'Outline Grille' radio in yellow with marbleized oxblood red trim. This radio was made circa 1945 and sold by Musicaire Radio. This model is known to collectors as 'outline grille'; the designers surely drew inspiration from the automotive world. Along with the catalin speaker grill surround and the slant front frequency indicator, the dial glass allows for easy viewing from above the radio as well, and acts as an additional architectural touch to make an already attractive radio into a true work of art. The Catalin has a deep shine, rich color + glow combined with the contrast between the colorful yellow cabinet and beautifully marbleized oxblood red trim makes for a pretty radio.  The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Musicaire model.

The radio is just a beautiful example of this catalin radio model. The glossy catalin yellow cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, tube burns or repairs. The chunky swirled oxblood red catalin grill surround and knobs are original to the radio and in great condition with no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The dial glass + back panel are original to the radio and show minimal signs of age. Grill cloth is a correct replacement.  Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is beautiful and would make a fantastic addition to a collection.

This radio measures approximately: 11" wide by 7" high by 6.25" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis appears complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
