Stunning Blue Catalin Emerson Tombstone Radio

Ref: RA753

Striking Catalin Emerson AU-190 'Tombstone' radio from 1937 in a stunning marbleized blue cabinet. This radio is absolutely stunning + seldom found in this color. The bluish-green patina on this radio is beautiful and the swirls are great. The oxidized blue-green swirled Catalin cabinet is highly marbleized with tones of yellow, clear + blue that add depth to an already beautiful radio.

Radio cabinet has no chips or tube burns; however the beautiful Lapis Lazuli cabinet has had a crack professionally repaired at some point.  Repair can basically only be detected when looking real close at the radio or by looking inside of cabinet. The three matching blue catalin knobs were machined from original catalin stock. Gold fabric grill cloth is original + in good condition with no holes and only some signs of age. Water-slide decal is a correct replacement. Dial plastic cover is original with very little wear. Radio has small scratches/scuffs consistent with age + use of set.

Radio measures approximately: 7" wide by 10" high by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, plug is missing. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
