Great Highly Marbleized Green Kadette Clockette

Ref: RA775

Kadette 'Clockette' K28 catalin radio in highly butterscotch with green undertones. This color was referred to by Kadette as 'Blue Marble' since the color when it left the factory was a marbled light blue or glacier blue color. The factory blue has taken on a warm greenish-butterscotch patina over the years. Made in 1937 by the International Radio Corp. in Ann Arbor, Michigan The 'Clockette' with its elegant cube design, etched grooves that wrap around and its distinctive 'clock' style brass dial bezel is unlike any other catalin radio. Radio is absolutely stunning with its heavily marbleized and translucent cabinet.....you can see through parts of the radio as seen in photos.

The marbleized translucent catalin cabinet has an incredible gloss and depth. Radio cabinet has no cracks, chips, or repairs; however it does have a tube burn that is often found on the Clockette. Radio retains the matching catalin front knobs, back knob and the yellow catalin pilot lamp 'jewel' that are perfect and original to the radio.  Brass dial bezel with Deco numbers and brass pointer are original to the radio and exhibits some signs of age. Water-slide decal is a correct replacement. Radio has small scratches, scuffs consistent with age + use of set. This seldom seen radio is absolutely striking and would make a fantastic addition to a radio collection.

Radio measures approximately: 7" wide by 7" high by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
