Striking Highly Marbleized Green Kadette Clockette

Ref: RA881

Rare and stunning Kadette 'Clockette' K25 catalin radio in heavily marbleized green. This great 1937 radio was made by the International Radio Corp. in Ann Arbor, Michigan The 'Clockette' with its elegant cube design, etched grooves that wrap around and its distinctive 'clock ' style brass dial bezel is unlike any other catalin radio. The tones of green, yellow, clear and brown add depth to an already beautiful radio. This about the most marbleized green Kadette I have owned. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a great example of this Kadette 'Clockette' model.

The marbleized green catalin radio cabinet has an incredible gloss. Radio cabinet has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The matching green catalin knobs and back knob are perfect and original to the radio. Radio retains the original manufacturers sticker affixed to the bottom and the yellow catalin pilot 'jewel' lamp. Brass dial bezel and pointer hand are original to the radio and have been polished  but still exhibit some signs of age. Water-slide decal is a correct replacement. Radio has small scratches, scuffs consistent with age + use of set. This radio is absolutely striking and would make a fantastic addition to a radio collection.

Provenance: From the Collection of French-born American artist Arman (1928-2005)

Radio measures approximately: 7" wide by 7" high by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
