Beautiful Bright Red Garod Wrap-Around Grille

Ref: RA802

Great Bright Watermelon Red + Butterscotch Catalin Garod model 6AU-1 'Commander' made by the Garod Radio Corporation in 1945. This sleek Art Deco catalin radio has a streamlined design emphasized with the less often seen wrap-around grille.

The bright red color is brought out even more with its contrasting yellow trim. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Catalin Garod model. The cabinet is free of chips, tube burns and repairs; however it does have one tight hairline located by the bottom rear screw hole that cannot be seen when displayed. The butterscotch trim has no cracks, burn marks, repairs, or chips and all trim pieces are original to the radio. This set retains its original cardboard back which is in great condition and part of manufacturers sticker affixed to the bottom of cabinet. This is a stunning example of a red Garod catalin tube radio that looks like it has been well cared for showing small light scratches consistent with light use. It would make a great addition to any Radio or Art Deco Collection.

Radio measures approximately: 11" Wide x 6.5" High x 6" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
