Superb Early Wrap-Around FADA SW-57 Catalin Radio

Ref: RA855

FADA SW-57 in Maroon/Plum with Yellow wrap-around grill, knobs + handle. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. The SW-57 version of the L-56 style is the shortwave model with a toggle switch on the back and dial marked Short Wave. The chassis in this model is bigger going all the way to the back edge; this made it that Fada had to add two factory holes on the bottom rear edge to secure the larger chassis. This seldom seen Fada SW-57 model in plum + butterscotch catalin is a great example of an all-original early FADA.

The glossy plum catalin cabinet + handle are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The yellow catalin grill and knobs are complete + factory original to the radio and free of cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The original beautiful graphic dial is bright and in great condition.  The dial plastic + water-slide decal are correct replacements. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.

Radio measures approximately: 9.75" wide by 7.25" high by 5.5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete; cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
