Great Early Wrap-Around FADA L-56 Catalin Radio

Ref: RA650

Rare FADA L-56 catalin radio in highly marbleized Emerald Green with butterscotch wrap-around grille + knobs. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This seldom seen green + butterscotch catalin example is a beautiful example with great swirls and vibrance. The vibrant emerald green cabinet is beautifully marbleized with yellow, darker and lighter green veins.

The vibrant green catalin cabinet is free of chips, tube burns or repairs; however it does have a hairline crack on the top left corner radiating from grill opening and a burn(reddish color-not from tube) on the left side rear. The original emerald green handle is lighter on the backside(see photos). These small defects in no way take away from the beauty and rarity of this radio. The marbleized butterscotch insert grill and fluted knobs are original to the radio and have no damage. Clear dial plastic cover and water-slide decal are correct replacements. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use. This rare radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection

Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
