Stunning + Rare Example of a Blue Highly Swirled FADA Catalin 659 Temple

Ref: RA911

Rare FADA 656 Shortwave 'Temple' Catalin radio in incredibly marbleized lapis-lazuli blue with yellow trim. The bright blue cabinet has veins of white with tones of blue and clear running through it that makes this an incredible example. This rarely seen blue example was part of the 1940-1942 radio lineup. The original yellow trim adds contrast and style to this example of a FADA Temple model. The shortwave model differs from the Fada 652 Temple in a couple ways; chassis has lever on the rear of the to change the bands, red/gold glass dial face shows shortwave/broadcast bands. It is not often you see a Fada 659 Temple.

The glossy Catalin cabinet is perfect with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs and has beautiful intense marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet. Radio has been cut/polished back to its factory original blue color with a great glossy finish. The yellow catalin dial surround and fluted knobs are original to this radio and in perfect condition.  Radio retains its original gold grill cloth with mild signs of age as expected, and the cardboard back panel. The graphic reverse painted Shortwave 659 dial glass is original and in great condition. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use.

This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.

Radio measures approximately: 10.85" wide by 6.75" high by 5.75" deep.  This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
