Original Insert Grille Two-Tone FADA 652 Catalin Radio

Ref: RA872

Rarely found Insert Grille model FADA 659 Shortwave 'Temple' Catalin radio in a beautiful Onyx/Pea-Green and Yellow Catalin. Radio model was part of the 1940-1942 FADA radio lineup. The onyx green catalin cabinet is highlighted by yellow and orange marbleizing. The yellow grille, large gumdrop knobs and dial surround add contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Temple model. The shortwave model differs from the Fada 652 Temple in a few ways; chassis has lever on the rear of the to change the bands, glass dial face shows shortwave/broadcast bands and the knobs are the larger 'gumdrop' style. It is not often you see a Fada 659 Temple.

This onyx/pea-green and yellow FADA 659 is in wonderful condition with no chips, repairs or tube burns. Cabinet does have one very small hairline coming off the bottom right corner of the insert grill opening, this is a common occurrence on the rarer insert grill models. The butterscotch catalin louvered insert grills has 2 small hairlines as can be seen; also a common issue with the insert model. Dial surround and large gumdrop knobs are original to this radio and in perfect condition The graphic reverse painted Shortwave 659 dial glass is original and in great condition. Radio retains the original cardboard back panel. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use.

This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.

Radio measures approximately: 10.85" wide by 6.75" high by 5.75" deep.  This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
