Exceedingly Rare Maroon Emerson Little Miracle

Ref: RA694

This ultra rare maroon Emerson AX-235 'Little-Miracle' Catalin Radio with black trim. Manufactured in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television this is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin table radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. The maroon/merlot un-marbleized cabinet with the black tenite/plastic trim makes for a rare + striking color combination and is only one of two know to exist. The two examples that exist vary from a regular Little Miracle in 2 ways; the front edges of radio are sharp(not as rounded) and the knobs are a different style than that of other Little Miracles.

The beautiful maroon/merlot cabinet has had a small hole next to right knob that has been professionally repaired years ago, this example has been in my personal collection. Repair can only be detected when looking at inside of cabinet. This models fragile plastic black grill + knobs which are prone to deterioration have been replaced with correct replacements. Dial plastic and decal are also correct replacements.

Radio measures approximately: 8.85" wide by 5.25" high by 3.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
