Striking Gilbert Rohde 'Tide' Clock by the Herman Miller Clock Company

Ref: CL135

Art Deco Gilbert Rohde designed electric clock model # 6366 manufactured by the Herman Miller Clock Company ca. 1932. This clock is an exceptionally clean, moderne design by Gilbert Rohde. The unusual hour hand and large face is characteristic of his clock designs of the period. The bold grain pattern in the Macassar veneer accentuates its sleek, horizontal design. A single chrome rib wraps the width of the clock, and the clock body rests on a recessed chrome base giving it a floating impression. This clock is often refereed to as the "Tide" clock. This iconic clock has been featured in many volumes of design books, and important auctions.

The condition of this iconic clock is great. The Macassar Ebony case has been refinished + chrome accents have been re-plated. The face is imprinted “Herman Miller Clock Co., Zeeland, Mich, USA” and is in fantastic condition.  The clock is fitted with the original self-starting electric movement that is in working condition at this time.  Power cord appears to be original.

The stately clock measures approximately: 16.75" wide by 6.25" high and 3.25" deep. There is no guarantee of accuracy with it keeping time. If you wish to use it daily, it is recommended you have a qualified professional service it, as it may need lubrication and calibration.
