Scarce 'Air-Cruiser' Finned Deco Radio

Ref: RA361

Rare Pacific 'Air Cruiser' Radio model 100 in original condition. Designed in 1936 by Joseph Price for the Pacific Radio Corporation out of Chicago, Illinois. This among the most streamlined Art Deco radios to be found. The design is a refreshing, futuristic departure from the heavy ornate cabinets of the time. The cabinet is a dynamic downward swooping shape accentuated by five lateral side fins that evoke movement.  The set has a great 'sailing ship' dial which only adds to its exciting design making the radio look like it is in motion, almost "cruising" along.  Only the 3rd example that I have ever seen and the only one I have owned.

The cabinet finish, brown bullet shaped knobs, brass bezel + "Air Cruiser" tag are all original to the set. The beautiful large 'sailing ship" dial face was expertly recreated due to damage caused by the pilot lamps heat. Original dial will be included with the radio.

This small radio measures approximately: 11" Wide(fin to fin) by 8.25" High by 14" Deep. This set is has been electronically restored and is in playing condition. Set is being sold as a vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician if intended for use.
