Ref: RA233

Extremely rare Chocolate Brown highly swirled RCA 66X Series Catalin radio - this is one of only a few known examples in this color know to exist to this date. Known to collectors as the "Tuna Boat", this Catalin cabinet from the 1945 RCA 66X series of radios has the distinction of being the largest Catalin radio ever manufactured. This is a radio needs to be displayed with adequate lighting in order to show off the splendid color and marbleizing that it has.

The brown swirled Catalin cabinet is heavily marbleized with tones of white, light yellow + dark brown that add depth to an already rare radio. Radio cabinet has been hand cut/polished by Decophobia and has an incredible gloss to it. Radio cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The 3 Dark Brown Bakelite Knobs are original to the radio. The gold fabric grill cloth is original to the radio and shows some wear consistent with age. Radio retains the original glass dial and manufacturers sticker on the bottom. This radio needs to be displayed with adequate lighting in order to show off the splendid color and marbleizing.

This stately radio measures approximately: 15.25" wide by 8.75" high by 6.85" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
