Stunning Catalin RCA Victor "Tuna Boat"
Oxblood Red RCA Victor 66x8 Series catalin radio. Known to collectors as the "Tuna Boat", this catalin cabinet for the 1945 RCA 66X series of radios has the distinction of being the largest Catalin radio ever manufactured. The oxblood red swirled Catalin cabinet is heavily marbleized with tones of yellow, orange, red and clear that add depth to an already stunning radio.
Radio cabinet has an incredible gloss to it. Radio cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The 3 Bakelite knobs are original to the radio. The gold fabric grill cloth is period correct replacement of the same pattern. Radio retains the original glass dial and manufacturers sticker on the bottom.
This stately radio measures approximately: 15.25" wide by 8.75" high by 6.85" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete; dial indicator does not move. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
