FADA 5F60 Catalin Radio Yellow with Blue Insert Grill
Beautiful Early Art Deco FADA 5F60 or 'Baby Fada' Catalin Radio
Fada 5F60 Catalin radio in faintly marbleized yellow with a highly marbleized blue insert grill. This rare prewar 1936/37 is one of the earliest catalin radio models made and has a simple and distinct cabinet design. This yellow + blue example is all-original and in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. The blue grill which has taken on a rich blueish-green patina has intense yellow marbleizing that gives it depth. This model has come to be known to collectors as the 'Baby Fada' because of its small size.
The catalin cabinet retains the factory gloss, the blue trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example. Catalin cabinet, insert grill and fluted knobs are original to the radio and have no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Clear dial plastic cover is a replacement. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use. This is a great example of an all-original early FADA.
The radio measures 7.75" wide by 5" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
