Rare FADA 188 "All-American" Catalin Radio - Red, White + Blue
Seldom Seen All Original 188 "All-American" Series FADA Catalin
Extremely Rare + Beautiful all original Art Deco FADA 188 "All-American" with an alabaster cabinet, marbleized blue handle + knobs and bright red marbleized wrap-around grill. This Art Deco Catalin model made in the late 1930's by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size.
The glossy Catalin cabinet is perfect with no cracks, chips, breaks, stress lines or repairs and has beautiful marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet. Radio's cabinet has been cut/polished back to its original alabaster color by Decophobia from it's oxidized butterscotch coloring.
The original blue(aged to green) Catalin handle(which lifts and is contoured to the shape of the cabinet) + knobs are original and correct to the radio and are also in great condition with no cracks, stress lines, chips, breaks, burns or repairs. Red grille is original to the radio as well. Dial plastic is a correct replacement. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use is a stunning example of a FADA 188.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
