FADA 1000 Catalin Radio 'Bullet' Yellow + Marbleized Bright Red
Beautiful FADA Bullet Catalin Radio in Light Yellow with Red
Art Deco FADA 'Bullet' Streamliner Model 1000 in light yellow with red marbleized Catalin. This radio styling epitomizes 1940’s Streamline design. Its sleek, rounded lines suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the "Bullet" are the best-known models. The bright red trim adds contrast + style to this stunning example of a Machine Age FADA Bullet model. The glossy catalin cabinet has beautiful faint marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet.
The cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The bright red marbleized catalin dial ring, fluted knobs and handle are original to the radio and also in great condition with no damage. Radio has the original grill cloth, and back panel in superb condition. The Art Deco gold 'Gemloid' dial face is bright and in great condition. Clear dial plastic cover is a correct replacement. Radio cabinet was cut/polished back to the original alabaster a few years ago and has taken on a beautiful light lemon yellow patina. Radio has been well taken care of and only shows some fine scratches consistent with age + careful use. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
