FADA 1000 Catalin 'Bullet' Radio Onyx Green + Yellow
Perfect FADA 1000 Catalin Radio in Onyx Pea-Green Color
Ref: RA391
FADA Catalin Radio 'Bullet' Model 1000 in Onyx Green + Yellow. The onyx/pea green cabinet displays a rich, warm patina that only 70 years of aging can achieve. This radio styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline Art Deco design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the "Bullet" are the best-known models.
The rich onyx green cabinet has great orange, brown + yellow marbleizing that give the radio a beautiful transparency/depth. The original yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. This onyx and yellow FADA 1000 has no cracks, chips, nicks, or repairs. Radio has original trim, grill cloth, and back panel. The Art Deco gold "Gemloid" dial face is bright and in great condition. Clear dial plastic cover is a correct replacement. Radio has been well taken care of and only shows some scratches consistent with age + careful use.
Radio measures approximately: 10.25" Wide by 5.5" Deep by 6.5" High. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
