Rare and Perfect FADA 1000 Catalin Radio in Translucent Onyx

Ref: RA470

FADA 1000 'Bullet' radio catalin in translucent Onyx Green with Butterscotch. This radio styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the "Bullet" are the best-known models. The beautiful onyx greeb catalin cabinet has orange, brown + white marbleizing and a beautiful transparency. The butterscotch trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model.

Radio has been polished back to its factory original onyx green color from its oxidized caramel coloring. This FADA 1000 has no cracks, chips, nicks tube burns or repairs. Catalin dial ring, fluted knobs and handle are original to the radio and in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, breaks, burns or repairs. The beautiful Art Deco gold 'Gemloid' dial face is bright and has no paint wear. Radio retains the original cardboard back panel. The dial plastic cover and grill cloth are replacements.

Radio measures approximately: 10.25" Wide by 5.5" Deep by 6.5" High. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
