Emerson Radio & Television, Co. created several Catalin radios in quite diverse + interesting designs. Designers for Emerson included Norman Bel Geddes for the 1940 "Patriot", Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for the Mae West + several other Art Deco wood Ingraham cabinet radios.
The Catalin models produced by Emerson include the 1937 AU-190 "Tombstone" available in 6 colors, the 1938 AX-235 "Little Miracle" which was available in 6 colors including the elusive Black with Orange trim, the 1938 BT-245 "Tombstone" available in 5 colors, the 1940 FC-400 "Patriot" available in 3 colors, the "Aristocrat" available in 6 colors, and finally the last Catalin radio made by Emerson the 520.

Striking Marbleized Emerson Little Miracle in Bright Red
Beautiful Bright Red Catalin Art Deco Emerson AX-235 Radio 'Little-Miracle'. Made in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. The small size of this radio combined with the great bright color and contrasting trim really makes for a stunning Art Deco radio. This highly marbleized + bright red cabinet has no cracks, warp, tube burns or repairs; however it does have a few small chips on the inside top back rail (back panel retaining holes) this can not be seen when radio is displayed. This is a common issue with the Emerson Little Miracle and in no way does it detract from the beauty of this radio. Cabinet retains the original factory gloss and the ivory tenite/plastic trim is original to the radio. Water-slide decal is original and in perfect condition. This models fragile plastic ivory grill + knobs which are prone to deterioration have been replaced with exact color correct replacements. Radio retains the original manufactures label on the bottom of cabinet. Dial plastic and decal are correct replacements. Radio measures approximately: 8.85" wide by 5.25" high by 3.75" deep. Emerson Radio & Phonograph Corp, out of New York, manufactured this small Catalin radio in 1940. The catalin has a beautiful gloss and is just a stunning example of this Emerson model that is highlighted by the faint reddish, yellow and lighter onyx green swirls. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The maroon catalin knobs are original to the radio. The radio retains its original reverse painted dial plastic and reddish/maroon textured grill cloth both in excellent condition. Cardboard back panel is still present and in nice condition. This 'Patriot' design in turn helped bolster national pride during the difficult years of the Great Depression.
