Emerson '5+1' EP-375 Catalin Radio in Alabaster + Brown with Handle
Great Emerson Catalin "5+1" with No Rivets and Matching Handle
Spectacular and desirable marbled alabaster/light yellow with Brown trim Emerson EP-375 '5+1' catalin radio with handle and no rivets. This art deco radio was manufactured by Emerson Radio & Television in 1941. This model has become known to collectors as the 5+1 due to the unique insert grill bar layout. The alabaster/light yellow cabinet with veins of brown and clear and white running through it makes the radio stand out from others. This model with a handle + no rivets is the rarest variation of Emerson 5+1's.
The beautifully marbleized light yellow/alabaster catalin cabinet + handle are have no cracks, chips, or repairs; however it does have a tiny hairline in the upper left corner of the left grill bar opening(please see photos). This is difficult to discern as it is the same color as the swirls that are on the radio. Radio has the original brown plastic grille bars and knobs in great condition with only slight signs of age + use. Dial plastic is original and free of hazing. Emerson water-slide decal is replacement. cabinet appears to have been polished back tot he original factory alabaster color at some point and has started to take on a light yellow color.
Radio measures approximately: 9.5" wide by 5.75" high by 4.75" deep.
This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
