Great Brown Marbleized Catalin 1937 Emerson Tombstone Radio
Beautiful Catalin Emerson AU-190 radio from 1937 in a highly marbleized tortoise brown cabinet or Circassian Onyx as Emerson referred to it. This radio is absolutely stunning + seldom found. The brown swirled Catalin cabinet is heavily marbleized with tones of yellow, clear + brown that add depth to an already beautiful radio.
Radio cabinet is in original condition with no cracks, tube burns or repairs. Cabinet retains the original factory gloss. Radio Cabinet has on the inside bottom rear left back rail (back panel retaining screw hole) a very small chip that can not be seen when displayed - see photos. Gold fabric grill cloth is original to the radio and in great condition with no holes or fading and only small signs of age. The 3 Catalin knobs are perfect + original to the radio. Water-slide decal, dial plastic, + cardboard back panel are replacements.
Radio measures approximately: 7" wide by 10" high by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
