Great Clear Lucite Dial Scale + Knobs with a Cabinet that Lights-up

Ref: RA170

The unusual Cyarts #B Deluxe is a "Bullet" style radio made entirely of the materials Plexon and Lucite. Cyarts Plastics, Inc. in Bronx, New York made this 1946 bright blue radio. The cabinet is not molded but rather fabricated out of sheets of colored Plexon. This radio when plugged in lites-up on the inside, which makes the radio glow. This interesting feature along with the use of different materials makes for a highly unusual and rare Art Deco radio.

This example in bright blue is in original condition with no chips, burns or repairs: however it has one small hairline crack on right rear corner.  This is just a stunning radio. Radio has original trim and masonite back panel(has been painted to match cabinet at one time) with a manufacturers sticker affixed to it. Lucite etched dial has a few small scratches consistent with use and knobs are original. Grill cloth is a period correct replacement.

Radio measures approximately: 13.5" wide by 7" high by 6" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
