All Original Seldom Seen Table Clock with Swimming Goldfish

This "Fishbowl" clock is wonderful example of Japanese Art Deco design made in the early 1930s by the National Clock Co. This whimsical windup clock, which rests under a bluish tinted glass dome, has deco numbers on a revolving ball that indicates hours and minutes. While one moving fish ticks out the seconds, the second fish oscillates in a fixed position acting as a pendulum. This gives the appearance that the fish are "swimming" inside of the fishbowl. This rare clock has six chrome feet similar to a Dominique design that attach to a black painted beveled base with chrome accents and a geometric frieze.

This clock is pictured on page 21 of the book "Pastimes / Telling Time From 1879 to 1969" by Philip Collins.  Clock is in wonderful original condition with slight wear to chrome and black paint.  Clock is currently working and keeping time. Original bluish globe has one small fissure on the inside lip that can only bee seen when looking closely.

Gilbert Rohde designed Art Deco electric clock model # 6366 manufactured by the Herman Miller Clock Company ca. 1932. This clock is an exceptionally clean, moderne design by Gilbert Rohde. The unusual hour hand and large face is characteristic of his clock designs of the period. The bold grain patterns in the Macassar veneer accentuates its sleek, horizontal design. A single chrome rib wraps the width of the clock, and the clock body rests on a recessed chrome base giving it a floating impression.

The condition of this iconic clock is great and it is obvious that this clock has been well taken care of + only shows some fine scratches and light pitting consistent with careful use and age. The Macassar Ebony case has been refinished + chrome lightly polished. The face is imprinted “Herman Miller Clock Co., Zeeland, Mich, USA” and is in fantastic original condition.  The clock is fitted with the original self-starting electric movement that is in working condition at this time.  Power cord has been replaced at some point.

Rare Gilbert Rohde Art Deco Clock for Herman Miller w/ Black Cylindrical Feet

Seldom Seen Rohde Clock with Juxtaposed Reverse Painted Face

Rare Gilbert Rohde Machine Age electric alarm clock manufactured by the Herman Miller Clock Company in the early 1930s.  Strong Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this model's design, including a chrome-ringed reverse painted face that sits on two black enameled "cylindrical" feet.  The clocks reverse painted face with streamline numerals juxtaposed on a black background with ivory hands, and a red second hand heighten the appeal of this rare clock.

Similar in design to model # 4706 but with painted black metal "cylindrical" feet and a reverse painted clock face juxtaposed on a black background with ivory hands. This most likely is a prototype/sample used to finalize the production model. Clock has original early Herman Miller label affixed to rear of clock.

The condition of this clock can only be described as near mint. Painted dial glass is original with no cracks, chips or deterioration to the paint. The clock is fitted with an alarm and a starter wheel that is not in working condition at this time (can be repaired if desired).

Beautiful Gilbert Rohde designed Art Deco clock made for the Herman Miller Clock Company in Zeeland, Michigan.  This model is pictured in their 1935 and 1937 catalogs and is shown as # 4717.  Strong Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this model's design. The case of Maple Burl + Macassar Ebony makes the clock stand out.  The dial is silver plated with lithographed numbers.  The bezel around the convex glass covering the face is brushed brass as are the six ball feet.

The condition of this clock can only be described as near mint. Wood case has been refinished and looks great with a beautiful lustre. Brass trim has been cleaned. The clock is fitted with the original manual starting electric movement with starter wheel that is in working condition at this time.  Power cord has been replaced with a period correct replacement.

Rare Gilbert Rohde Art Deco clock from the series of clocks designed for Herman Miller with "Air-Guide" feature. The clock is Number 6381 in the Herman Miller company literature and was shown in the 1937 catalog. Strong Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this model's design, including the brushed nickel plated face plate with the black footed case of Macassar Ebony, + three brushed metal speed-lines affixed to the top of clock. The brushed silver painted clock + "Air-Guide" thermometer/humidity faces have streamline numerals, red + black hands, and a red second hand that heighten the appeal of this rare clock. This is a truly a striking design.

This clock varies from the standard model 6381 in 3 ways: the face is marked Herman Miller, the "puck" feet on the bottom of case are smaller in diameter, model # not stamped into case bottom.  This is believed to be an early production or prototype of this model.

The condition of this is all original showing some crazing on the Macassar Ebony finish and some cracking of the veneer on the left side(see photo).  Both dial glasses are original with no cracks or chips. Dial faces are original and show some light wear consistent with the age of the clock. The clock is fitted with the original movement with starter wheel that is in working condition at this time. Power should be replaced.

Clock case can be refinished if requested + a new cord installed.

Telechron "Quacker" Plaskon Bird Electric Alarm Clock by Belle Kogan

Rare + Whimsical Art Deco Telechron Belle Kogan Design Clock

Rare Art Deco Telechron "Quacker" Electric Alarm Clock by Industrial designer Belle Kogan. The whimsical design made of canary yellow Plaskon body with a deep orange Plaskon beak, and painted eyes that seem always to be watching you is absolutely stunning.  This is one of the few true novelty clocks made by Telechron, and it is one of the most desirable.

This clock was featured in the Telechron catalogs from 1935 through 1939.  The "Quacker" model 7F63 was the alarm clock version of the similar "Smug" clock. Kogan, one of the first American female industrial designers, was an early pioneer in the use of plastics, and her clocks are collector's items today.

This beautiful clock is all original with no cracks, chips or repairs to the Plaskon.  Clock is in working condition and the alarm function also works properly and has a nice bell/buzzer sound. Power cord has been replaced with a period correct cloth covered cord and the original ivory Plaskon plug was reused.

Geometric Art Deco 3-Layer Aqua Waltham Glass Clock

Striking Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this Crystal Bent Fyrart Aqua layered glass clocks design. Fyrart a play on the word fire + art as the glass was heated with fire to form the the great shapes that can be seen on this rare clock. The geometric shape, colored curved glass, etched deco numerals filled with gold paint, and stylish brass hands heighten the appeal of this rare clock. This is a truly successful design that resembles a glacier with its beveled edges and sharp angles. The mirrored section on the front pane reflects the etched Deco clock numerals giving the effect of depth + and the layering of the glass gives it a gradient look.

These incredible Art Deco Crystal Bent Fyrart clocks were, as the name implies, made from plate glass that was usually colored, that was heated + bent to form a face, + support for a Waltham clock movement.

The condition of this clock can only be described as near mint. The aqua colored glass is free of any cracks or chips. It does have a very fine bubble in one of the panes of glass towards the edge. The mirrored section on the front pane directly behind the etched Deco clock face shows only the slightest amount of wear. The clock is fitted with the original electric Waltham Watch Co. movement that is in working condition at this time, cannot guarantee that it will continue working after shipping but it should. The cloth covered power cord has some wear to the exterior cloth covering but works safely - this can be changed out if desired for an extra cost.

Catalin Art Deco Lackner "Neon-Glo" Clock DULCY Marbleized Brown

Wonderful Swirled Brown Bakelite Cabinet in Working Condition

Lackner Neon-Glo Art Deco Dulcy Marbled Brown Catalin Bakelite clock made in the 30's and 40's in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the only Catalin case clock with a that lites-up with a neon giving the dial a beautiful glow.

This Lackner retains a beautiful natural gloss to the cabinet and is highly marbleized with tones of yellow + orange. Cabinet has no cracks, burns or repairs. It does have a couple of small chips caused by the shrinking of the Catalin cabinet around the metal back which is common for Lackner Bakelite body clocks.

Clock is in working order, keeps accurate time and has the original movement, neon and transformer.

George Nelson "Masonite" 4767 Mid-Century Table Howard Miller Clock

Early 1949 Nelson Design with Map-Pin Hour Markers

Rare 1949 George Nelson designed "Masonite", wood and metal table clock made by Howard Miller clock Company of Zeeland, Michigan. Showcased is an early and rare version of the "Masonite" 4767 clock. The large round clock face with a thin band of wood surround, bent metal base that gently leans back and the map-pin hour markers truly showcase George Nelson's use of a wide variety of materials and design elements.

Clock is in great original condition and signed with decal manufacturer's label on the back of wood clock case - this beautiful clock has not been touched. Dark gray Masonite face has a few small white marks as well as the wood face surround. The original enameled gray metal base + gray lacquered wood clock body has some minor paint wear consistent with age and careful use. Aluminum hands are original are close to perfect and the often missing red second hand has a slight bend in it. Clock is in working condition with a long cord.

The opalescent painted face has streamline numerals, hands, and a red second hand that heighten the appeal of this rare clock. This is a truly striking design.

The condition of this iconic clock can only be described as near mint. It is obvious that this clock has been well taken care of and only shows some fine scratches and light pitting on chrome consistent with light careful use and age. Clock base retains the original brown felt still affixed to the bottom.  Dial glass is original with no cracks or chips.  The Deco black hour hand has a fine scratch caused by the spinning of the minute hand. This in no way detracts from this great clock. The clock is fitted with an alarm and a starter wheel that is in working condition at this time. Power cord is long and in good condition. Clock is marked Herman Miller clock Co. Zeeland, Mich. U.S.A. on the bottom of the face following the contour of the chrome bezel.

Similar in design to model # 4738 but slightly taller, red hands + metal base(not wood like other). This most likely is a prototype/sample used to finalize the production model. Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller Clock Model 4082-B

Wonderful Gilbert Rohde Art Deco clock from the series of clocks introduced at the Chicago World's Fair for Herman Miller. The model is number 4082-B in a highly figured Maidou burl veneer. Clock retains the original silver/white face with black hour markers, black skyscraper hands, red second hand.  The three chrome strips following the curved case of the clock make for an incredible American Art Deco streamline design.

The face is imprinted “Herman Miller Clock Co., Zeeland, Mich, USA”.  No manufactures tag on the back of clock.  Wood has been refinished, clock is working and is ready to display.

Great Art Deco 1930's small barrel shaped laminated Catalin marbleized in a bright butterscotch and red New Haven wind-up desk clock.

Clock case has no cracks, burns, or repairs and is currently working. Yellow ring has on the left one tiny stress line caused by the glue used to laminate the clock from the factory. This little blemish can hardly be seen and does not detract from this rare and beautiful little Bakelite clock.
